So I took the Raptor out to Pismo/Oceano Dunes for the day on Saturday and had a blast. It was my first time driving on sand dunes and I slowly got the hang of it. After a few hours of driving around I decided to head out for the day. On my way off the dunes and back onto the beach I got stuck in a pretty deep/steep sand bowl. I had to air down to about 18lbs to get out. I gunned it to get the momentum to climb out and to my relief it leaped out. Unfortunately the dune I was coming down off of was way too steep and when I reached the bottom the front end plowed into the sand. The front and passenger side of the bumper took the impact and it bent it pretty good. The top skid plate took a little bit of damage as well. I guess I should just be glad the bumper was there to do its job and I don't have any body/ drivetrain damage.
I had planned on getting an aftermarket bumper at some point but this wasn't exactly how I wanted to end up going about it. I'm leaning pretty heavy to Wicked Performance's new Outlaw bumper. I'll end up ordering a new one prob around the end of Feb once I do some research and make a final decision.
