*Edit...Obviously I can't spell mirror in the thread title....

Got bored while packing some gear in the garage and looked at the truck and decided to black out the orange reflectors. I had some vinyl still laying around from when I blacked out the emblems on my wifes car, so I decided to go at it.

First...removed the markers..Simple enough (note: Remove with a flat head. Passenger marker removed from the part closest to truck...Drivers side removed from the furthest part from truck.)

Clean off with alcohol (not the drinking kind).

A piece of expertly cut Vinyl.

Start wrapping. Keeping it slightly stretched and avoid bubbles.

These are going to be inevitable when it starts to curve, but can be kept to a minimum. (Yep...wearing Crocks...)

When its laid on, cut with a razor along the gap between the reflector and the plastic.

Peel it off

Finished project. (water beads...not bubbles)

Took about 10 minutes to do. Make sure to press down on the vinyl evenly and firmly so it sticks very well.

Looks good, easier than painting....which is what I did with a rattle can. You shouldn't use sharp objects wearing crocs!!!!!:waytogo:

Thanks! no heat gun . You could use light heat from a blow dryer to help it stick when applying if you want. (especially if its cold out). I didn't really stretch it out. More like kept it tight when applying.

Looks good. Is that tinted vinyl or solid black. I think its really cool if you can still see them when lit.
