I just installed both last night. I put the bracket on with the new shroud.

Yes, bolts you see are under the factory cover. Install was straight forward and easy. Are the 4x bolts beneath the shroud? Not to be that guy, but believe they help secure the shroud down.

Edit: oh I see what you’re saying. Yes, @mobiia looks to have it installed incorrectly.

Depends on the cover that your raptor came with. If it’s the newer version you can get away with just the bracket.if you have the older shroud design like mine you should get them both. You need it to have adequate airflow to the intake and even stock the intake scoop can collapse burning up your turbos. If not tuning the vehicle is the shoud neccessary or just the bracket? I understand the need for the bracket but most of the writeup on the website talks about adding the extra power and having issues. I'm all for adding items that are better than factory, allow more air and keep things cool but I never plan on running a tune.
For me, it cost $130 for peace of mind that I'm helping airflow. Pretty inexpensive relative to overall truck cost. Not running a tune currently. Probably going to try and hold off a while. If not tuning the vehicle is the shoud neccessary or just the bracket? If you don’t have the revised shroud I’d say it’s “mandatory.” The fact that Ford changed that part tells you they acknowledge that the trucks needed more air. I don’t think the tuned trucks are pulling much higher boost than a stock truck so if tuned trucks need it, the stock truck would probably benefit too.If not tuning the vehicle is the shoud neccessary or just the bracket?
