It is absolutely worth it for the performance difference. I went from a gen 2 to a TRX to an R. It’s a fun truck. I like it more than the TRX.

However if I had 10k in a 23 that I will never get back in upgrades and had to finance it at all I would pass and enjoy the heck out of the one you have. This truck isn’t worth getting and losing that much money. My 2 cents.
That is why I may keep them both. The PPF does have a lot of rock chips however from tires kicking up rocks. So I have been co tempting unwrapping within the next year or so.

I’m financing the one I got still, although with plenty of “equity.” The R would just mean financing more. However, I’m nowhere close to a situation where it would hurt me financially. I could pay it off at anytime.

I don’t think I’d bother to PPF full body again. Not likely to keep these things long enough to warrant it.

I agree, maybe ceramic coat the whole thing and just clear PPF the fenders hood and headlights.

That's what I'm thinking. Just cleaned today and the only spots where there are nicks in the film are where a front wrap would cover. Take anything else around the truck as the cost of enjoyment.

it is a truck after all. However for the price these things fetch nowadays, is it really?

I remember I bought a 2012 Porsche GT3 for $116000 brand new and sold a year later, back to the dealer I bought it from, for $118000 with 8500 miles on it. To get a GT3 for less than the cost of a ******* ford truck is something to stand back and think about, though I know I am living in the past, it was only 12-13 years ago.

I'm not Jay Leno so I'm unlikely to keep it forever and I don't think a few chips are going to affect the deal much when I do decide to get rid of it. Certainly not enough to justify $6-10k.

I'm on my way tomorrow to check out an R with a relatively modest ADM ($7500). Contacted the dealer months ago and I get first stab at it. I have my own financing (Navy Fed, 4.49) and a good trade (2023 801A, low mileage). I've been searching around for months and now that there is a great chance I could drive home with one soon, I'm getting cold feet because it is a stupid amount of money no matter how you cut it. My current Raptor is great; has great wheels, full body PPF - those who have already upgraded, is it worth it (subjective, I know)? I've convinced myself to walk if they attempt to hose me on my trade or anything else and honestly, I blame it on the doubt I already have.
Best of luck and hope it works out for you. Interested to see what they offer on your trade as I also have 2023 801A at 2 yrs old with 14,000 miles.

At the dealer now, here in South Mississippi. Just signed all my papers waiting for my aftermarket wheels to be removed from my trade.

The first numbers I got were $30k over on the R, $60k for my trade (23 801a, 24k miles. I verbally agreed to $7500 over months ago and had nothing to lose driving two hours to get here. I was at least going to get a test drive in to see what the fuss is about.

I was about to walk out but after a little back and forth, they honored their initial ADM and gave me $65k for my trade which is what I wanted (Carvana offered $63.5, my Ford payoff page suggested $65.2).

I’ll be driving it home this evening much to my wife’s dismay. Space White, no decals even though I actually like the decals…it’s free PPF!
