I got a call today of one the car buying services that I have done with in the past. They made me a offer on my 20 raptor 800a truck for 60k. I bought it September for 58k out the door. I’m temped.

Used truck resale values are through the roof in many areas. I’ve thought about selling my Raptor as well but there isn’t anything out there that I would want to replace it with. The best option would be to go down to one vehicle until the Gen3 Raptor or Bronco Warthog comes out.

You should consider taking your truck to CarMax to get a price from them. You can also try to sell through AutoTrader. They’ll put you in touch with a few dealers that will make you an offer.

ok. so after tax and all that you are losing money on a current year model truck.

Unless you think the truck sucks and you just want to break almost even. it's not a smart move.

I'd sell the shit out of mine right now. But unfortunately this is the shortest (lengthwise) full size truck and the only full size ford with a supercab and 5 1/2 foot bed. so it fits in my garage.

I'd order a 21 lariat with a supercab and 5 /12 foot bed right now if they sold them.

Well I’m on the fence. Not sure if anything out there I’m interested in right now. I have over 20k in equity in the truck right now. Only put 1k miles on it since I bought it. I have my other truck also in the garage. I could just buy a car don’t really need to have 2 trucks. I work from at home so don’t drive allot. I just put leather seats in to make it a little nicer. I’ll think about it some more.

How do taxes factor in? Here in NH we don't have sales tax so that would be pretty tempting. Might be different for you. I thought about trading my Raptor for the currently elevated values and dealing with something less exciting until the Gen 3. Just hard to do because the Raptor is what I want. Gen 3s will also be marked up for the first year and are still a year plus away. If having a Raptor was a novelty for you I'd do it. Personally I just have the one vehicle and it's what I want so it would take more cash than that to move me.

You must not really like the Raptor or use it for what it’s made for if you’ve only had it ~3 months and want to get rid of it for barely break even?

I’d only pay sales tax on the difference of the new vehicle. I’m looking at stuff that costs way less. Also with what’s coming with the new administration worries me. It would really lessen my debit for sure.

I like it just fine but when I get offered more than i paid for it makes it hard to keep it. I put down 20k. So I’m way ahead.
