Ok I am deployed to Iraq right now and will be home July 1st. What I would like to know is:

- What is off road mode?
- How does it work?
and
- What does it actually do to the truck on and off road?

etc.....

Obviously I haven't been able to try this out yet and I want to get to know my Raptors capabilities.

Thank You everyone :)

Well when you get home, just so you know, there is a supplement that comes with the owners manual that lays it out like a chart, make sure to just give it a read. But for now, in easy terms......
ORM changes the throttle, trans. shifting and ABS calibrations. While in ORM, you'll notice that the trans. holds the gear alot longer and while you're playing around in it, the RPM's tend to stay high. When you let off the gas, it doesn't upshift right away but holds the current gear. I find myself steering the truck alot this way. The ABS will pretty much go non-existant allowing the tires to build up a wall of dirt, sand, mud or whatever to help slow you down when the brakes are applied. You want stopping power, not neccesarily steering control which is what ABS allows. With ORM engaged, a rear locker too, you have plenty of ways to steer the truck around. Although I believe ABS will kick in just a bit at high speeds. I've also found that the throttle alone is enough to slow down the truck very well.....let off the gas and it's like engine braking. That's pretty much it in a nutshell;)

DJ in that post I linked to, there's a picture of that supplement that SOCO mentions. Can you view it? If not, want me to email it to you?

The pdf is too big to upload DJ, but here is the page on Off Road mode:

OFF-ROAD MODE

Off-road mode allows you to change the operating characteristics of the
following features to allow for better off-road performance:
• Transmission shifting and response
• Electronic locking differential
• AdvanceTrac௡ (ABS, RSC, Traction Control)

ENABLING OFF-ROAD MODE
With the vehicle traveling less than
5 mph (8 km/h) and your foot off of
the accelerator pedal, press this
button to turn on off-road mode. A
chime will sound and a message will
display indicating that off-road mode
is active. If any of the conditions are
not met, the message center will
display the appropriate messages to guide the driver through the proper
operating procedures. See Message center in your owner’s guide for
more information.
Press the button again to turn it off.

WARNING: Off-road mode is specifically calibrated for off-road
driving conditions and should never be used on pavement.

With this mode enabled, the operating characteristics of the following
features will be altered:

• Transmission shifting and response– Transmission upshifts are
delayed and occur less frequently. This ensures the best possible
vehicle response and acceleration if the driver needs to briefly lift off
of the throttle to negotiate an obstacle or corner.

• Electronic locking differential (ELD)– If engaged, the ELD will
remain locked until the operator manually disengages it with the
control knob, or disengages off-road mode and exceeds the standard
ELD speed thresholds. See Electronic locking differential in your
owner’s guide for more information.

• AdvanceTrac௡– When off-road mode is engaged, the AdvanceTrac௡
settings are altered for optimized off-road performance.

• Tow/haul mode – If tow/haul mode is active, it will be disabled. Also,
you cannot select tow/haul mode when off-road mode is on. As the
SVT Raptor is primarily a performance vehicle, off-road mode takes
priority over tow/haul mode.

Hope that helps...

Kewl! Just didn't want you wasting your storage space on something already available.
