We took 14 vehicles out to Ocotillo this past weekend and let me tell you it was hot as shit!! Ended up seeing 3 Raptors randomly cruising around while we were shooting video, but all in all a good time. Make sure you stop by the Iron Door off Split Mountain Rd. by the airport and say what's up to Clay!

Just my opinion...

* It could be 116 daytime
* It could go "down" to 85 at night (coolest temperature)

That's WAY too hot and adds additional risk to running in the desert.

As for dropping the windows that's nuts given the amount of dust that will be generated.

Furthermore, I don't recommend Ocotillo Wells at all especially at night. Off road vehicles are legal there so that means you have to watch out for people on SxS's, quads and cycles riding in the dust (tough to see).

Go to Anza-Borrego Desert State Park next door. No off road vehicles are allowed there so only Jeeps, trucks and Raptors will be there making it much safer.

Have fun! Summer is the time to run the higher elevations not the desert.

Thanks man we all know you like anza and recommend it all the time but I go to both mostly Ocotillo all the time. Im out there at least twice a month in the dirt season camping the whole weekend. Right now you don't have for wheelers riding around because it's too hot. Last time I was there there was like 3 or 4 people camping at holmes camp and they all was just chilling at night. I go far out pretty much where quads don't go usually. Was just out there recently. Going at night time because I know how hot it is. Windows thing if in front or way behind somebody where the dust settles you get not much dust in truck. Now if there was a bunch off trucks pout there then yes I don't recommend Windows being open. Again I do out all the time and your in the desert, your gonna get some dust. Not my first rodeo. I believe landfill was just out there last Not sure why I have to keep explaining it all the time when it's a night time ride. I know it's hot and that's why I'm doing it at night, just posted this to see who was interested in a night time ride on here. I was going either way.

Damn I wanna go but will be heading home to Vegas that morning. There are a couple of buddies hitting up a section of the Mojave rd that night too. If I was staying another night in SoCal I would join ya cause I have never been there. I plan to make it out there sometime in the fall. Have fun and stay cool.

Hey guys, if this isn't an exclusive ride, I'd really like to join. I'm from Glendale but will be celebrating 4th of July in Indio with my family. My Raptor is stock, just picked up on Saturday. Take it easy on me on the trails. I'm sure ill have the typical rookie fear. But I'm ready to roll.
