Concur magicdan but those Germans were complete idiots. Those circumstances were inside their control. Great read (long) if others haven't read that story yet.

A word of advice for everyone:

NEVER, EVER go offroading in one vehicle. Even if you think you'll "meet someone on the trail" it's a bad idea and it's bound to be the time that Murphy's Law comes along.

I know a seasoned off roader who went out alone and got his Raptor stuck and had to sleep along side it (good thing he brought his gear with him) and wait for his buddy who was an hour away (good thing he had cell service!).

And there are many true stories about people who went off roading in 1 vehicle and never made it back. Here's an example:

Death Valley skeletons solve riddle of missing German tourists - The Local

Who was that *******???

I would say this Raptor owners friend was over 2 hrs away. Then that truck went down trying to pull the Raptor out and we...er I mean they, had to wait for an offroad tow truck and pay $675 to get the Raptor out. Then the ******* Raptor owner had to pay to get his friends truck towed and replace the radiator. All which could have been avoided with a buddy.

I'd like to say that guy doesn't go off-roading by himself after that but he's a nut job destined for a long walk home one of these days :peace:
