I actually lived in California when I bought both 2011 and 2019...neither was the world's most amazing deal but both were couple K under sticker... at time I found some in TX, SD, and ME but was so busy with work cost-benefit wasn't there to do it.

Definitely don't even consider CA if they want to charge tax...it's 7.75...and then you also have to pay tax in your state. And generally speaking closest good Raptor prices for CA residents are a minimum 1,000 miles away.

Yeah I only even started the conversation with them because i figured they had some room to come down on the price because i think its a little ridiculous currently. I only found out all the details once we started talking. But yeah unless the were will to do like 63k out the door i dont think it'll work for me. Utah tax will still be 7.25 on top of that

I appreciate it! did you end up buying from out of state? California is kind of weird. Apparently if i wanted to drive it off the lot back to Utah i would have to pay California state tax. Also Utah state tax once i registered here. So obviously not gonna do that. But other options were to ship it or have them take it to Nevada where i could then drive it back from. Kind of a pain

This is not true. You pay CA tax but when you come to register it in Ut, you don’t have to pay sales tax as you’ve already paid it in CA. I’ve bought two cars out of Cali in the last few years. Maybe Utah has changed their law but as of 5 years ago, one only pays sales tax once

In California, if you already paid tax in another state, they credit you that payment from the tax owed to California.

Hey guys! brand new to this forum and im shopping around for a Gen 2 currently. I came across this on auto trader and wonder if in the off chance someone here has owned or knows anything about this truck?

It looks likes a decent deal but I hesitate because it has 3 previous owners, one of which only owned it for about 4k miles.. Another issue is i live in Utah and this is in California so it makes checking it out physically before buying it a little tricky. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. Either about the truck itself or if anyone has been in a similar situation.

That actually makes more sense. I think the tax rates are pretty close we are at 7.25% here.

So if i could get them down to like 63k out the door is that still too much? I would still owe 4500 or so in taxes and registration fees so around 68k total. Im feeling less concerned about the 3 previous owners as it sounds like its not too unusual. I spoke with a sales manager at ford yesterday and he says he has a few raptor guys that get a new one every year.

I punched in the numbers to kelly blue book. I wouldn't touch this deal due to all the owners. The extreme price. This is not a good deal at all.

Price is too high! I paid 68K for my 19 same options brand new off the lot with 100 miles.
