estimated dealer price of $46,238
average price paid $50,598
MSRP $51,095

The two local Raptors near me all have an MSRP around $59k

Invoice pricing is going to be around $5k off MSRP depending on the options loaded.

I drive mine every day, I have no other vehicle except for my wife's car but she drives that.

Paid $56k and spent another $20k in mods and still drive it around daily.

No regrets!

Hitting up a dealership this week to see what the actual numbers might look like. That also includes trying to figure out how to scrounge up some $$ to make for a lower monthly payment!

I've been a Finance Manager (Saturn, Buick & GMC)for a GM Franchise for 15 years and just started as a Finance Manager at my local Chevy Dealer.

GM's are good trucks (ignore the negative nellies) HOWEVER - THERE IS NOTHING LIKE A FORD RAPTOR AND YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

GMs got nothing on the Raptor period! You won't regret it. You buy that GMC you WILL always regret and always wonder...

I have driven all the new trucks almost weekly (I have rental vehicles every week because of my job) and I can tell you ..none of them drive or ride like my Raptor.

I'm just an average income holder like most on here and plunked down a large chuck of change to own this truck (along with the big payments to boot) but I can honestly say I haven't regretted my purchase one bit....although I do miss my 08 F450.....lol. The only thing I wish is that the roads around here where rougher because this truck doesnt care.....hahaha

Don't wait!!!!!

Grab one if these Raptors ASAP before you are forced to driving that Sierra for the next few years (which will seem like forever). Nothing compares to this bad ass truck...the stares from the Dad's (wish I had one), the Mom's (wish my husband had one) and the kids (wish my Dad had one) are empowering. Best decision I've made in a long time and not one ounce of regret!

I have some good vehicles in my garage-
I have a Taurus SHO, an Explorer Sport, a 2014 GT500, all fully loaded...and they are all fun to drive.

BUT my 2011 Raptor has over 90k miles on it, and is BY FAR, the best all around vehicle I own, or have ever owned. The mpg's are its only negative. People often feel it isnt a practical solution for a vehicle purchase, but I would like to point out just a couple of my observations after 3 years of driving mine-

Do you have rough roads in Ohio? Dont even start- we all do, but your roads up in that part of the country can get extremely bad. The Raptor was made for jumping sand dunes, right? Well, that attribute is perfect for absorbing any road anomaly you throw at it. It is the best riding vehicle for any road you drive on. (And Im a road contractor, I drive roads in every condition imaginable)

Do you have bad weather or blizzards in Ohio ever? We dont call that a state of emergency in a raptor, hell, we call that an "event". People drive from all over the US to attend the SNOBALL up in MI BFE. Snow, high water, mud are all play things to a raptor, a reason to smile.

Do you like worrying about door dings when you park? If so, you might want the Sierra. See, the raptor was built with running boards at the perfect level. If some ******* swings open their door next to me- they get a piece of their door knocked off on my bullet proof running board/door protector. (and Ive watched it happen before)

Then there are the modifications you can do to a Raptor...leave it stock, or make it your way, the Raptor is the burger king of vehicle options.

I could go on, but really, the only question you have to ask yourself is this-

Do you have what it takes to own a Raptor? If so, then good luck buying it, and enjoy the love affair that follows.

BTW- The title of this thread might as well read- Would you guys rather date Rosanne Barr or any Victoria Secret model...

But hey, some guys like obnoxious "big *****" chicks.

I have all of the confidence in the world that I would love this truck. I could see the mpg's getting old after awhile, but probably not that bad.

I've always had Camaro's, GTO's, Corvettes, Trans Am's, Harleys...always one toy or another. I sold all of the toys a few years back to purchase a house. Now that I own a house and I'm in debt for awhile, I figure it's time for a toy. This truck would be a daily driver and a toy.

I just do not want to buy it and then have it only see pavement. I'd like to actually take it out once and awhile, so I'll have to do some homework for whats near me.

DubbsFaris - you are 100% correct! I cannot wait to play in the snow (if I get one).


So my current situation is that I'm waiting to hear back from a friend, who knows a few dealership folks, to see if they can help me out on a price and locating a truck.

While that's going, I'm working to see what kind of funds I can free up.


Overall, the Raptors are pretty much the same with options, correct? It seemed like the main choice for the buyer is the color and what size cab...am I essentially right on? I just want to make sure there isn't an option that I should REALLY get and then forget about it.

I saw a picture of "Race Red" near me...almost looked Orange in the picture but it looked great!
