I want the Roush Raptor, 2013 model but I don't really want to wait 3 or more months for the truck. There is a red 2013 model for sale locally (TX) and I can buy the Roush package and have it installed. My question is: Is it better to have the supercharger installed by Roush directly or will a local ford dealer do just as good of a job? Don't know if Roush does a Dyno test as part of the install, I'm sure dealers don't. Your thoughts are appreciated.

There are those here that run S/C's and can weigh in. Mine is not a street queen and where I drive the S/C would not last long.. Just know that before you get one installed.

Try contacting Randy his link is over to the right under vendors. When I talked to him about 2 months ago he said he would be able to get me a Rousch Raptor. He also gives pretty good deals to us.

WAITING for a new Raptor is what people do. I understand you don't want to do it - no one does. But people wait to get what they want.

Nah I didn't wait. I knew what I wanted. So, I started calling dealerships. Found exactly what I wanted a couple states away. Worked the deal over the phone (including trade) and picked up the truck that weekend.

Maybe things were different back in 2011, but they seemed even harder to find back then.

From the time I decided on getting a Raptor to the time it was in the driveway was less than 24 hours.. It did have the go fast stickers which I took off less than 10 minutes after I got it home.

The first time I tried to buy a Raptor was in 2011, dealership had 3 on the lot and offered me $3000 under MSRP. Would have signed back then, but I wanted something that would be easier to drive through downtown LA, where I lived at the time. Big mistake, I know.

Honestly you can just get the raptor package from roush which I am sure has a default baseline tune then just take it to a speed shop and pay like 200 bucks to have them dyne tune it and give you a copy of your tune so if you ever have to go to ford just load the baseline roush tune then reflash with your custom one.

Just an idea.

Some big name ford dealers are certified Roush dealers. A couple members have done the install themselves it described it as pretty easy. Roush provides you with an overnight mailer. You send your ecu to them and they overnight it back. You'll have it before you're even finished with the install.

Welcome to the forum!

I had almost resigned myself to buying a brand new one due to pricing but the day before I went to see a friend at a Ford dealer, another member posted his truck for sale and a week later it's in the driveway. I lucked up big time I think since it already had a lot of the nice little appearance mods I would have done anyway... Good luck in getting the truck you want!
