What size is the stock resonator? In other words, would this system mate up with the stock resonator?

I'm running the Corsa resonator delete with the stock exhaust. The Corsa unit is about 2" shorter than the stock resonator.

Is the resonator inline purely for exhaust sound modification or does it serve any other sort of purpose -- i.e. emissions, back-pressure? Is there any reason why a competent muffler shop shouldn't be able to just put a straight pipe in where it resides now? Does anyone have a picture of the stock exhaust system with these various components and how they hook up?

Sounds great...and for that price point you can't go wrong...Looks like the build quality is excellent, would be awesome to hear this system with headers installed.

Can't say for sure on the 6.2 setup, but resonators in general are specially tuned instruments designed to aid in exhaust gas scavenging. I'd expect a decrease in HP and torque if removing them from a bone stock truck. But curious to see real dyno numbers on a resonator delete. If it were only a sound thing, Ford could have saved some cash by adjusting the sound via the muffler. Short of dyno numbers showing otherwise, I wouldn't mess with the resonator unless I significantly changed something upstream...like headers, cylinder head surgery or forced air.

Nice start-up. Was that a warm start or cold? (Sounded warm, or like a 5* tune).

Didn't sound to loud, but over the fall leaves going kicked up, it was a bit raspy. Lol...

That was a warm start. I actually shot that start up right when I got home from shooting the rest of the video. Cold starts are even more gnarly.

The Raptor's resonator is a small, straight through flow muffler with a perforated core. I do not believe removing it would have an effect on performance either way. In the Raptor's case, the long intermediate pipe which basically runs underneath the cab could potentially be a source for resonance/drone. I believe the resonator is there to break up that long run of pipe to reduce vibration while also reducing the overall exhaust sound level.

In the case of this particular exhaust, drone is not an issue. The muffler internals looked very unique to me, almost like an S tube. I'm not entirely sure how Volant has achieved this sound level while offering a whisper quiet ride on the highway, but they did.
