Just bought my 2019 Raptor. Think I got a good deal MSRP $75k got it for $ 70k. Currently have a 2016 BMW M5 competition that was tuned to around 600whp that the lease is ending in August and was thinking of getting a ‘19 M5 but really needed a truck to haul my Mtn bike and kids bikes and stuff so decided to just get the M5 of trucks lol. Picked it up two days ago and absolutely love it so far. I will miss the M5 but will most likely get another in the future. Got the windows tinted today. Future mods to come.

I’d be interested to hear your take on the truck after a couple months. I also came from an M5... but after a few months of Raptor ownership (nearly identical to yours... do you have Recaros too), I find myself ready to get back into another luxury sports vehicle.

I find that I miss the performance, luxury, and refinement. I convinced myself that the Raptor could satisfy those needs (at a lower level of course), but the drop off appears to be too much for me.

Keep us posted on your transition.

Thank you all! Yep I took the M5 for a drive Saturday and I’ll definitely miss it. Nothing like 600+ whp pulling you back in the seat. I’ve been in a M5 for 6 years now had a 2014 before this one. I am sure I will end up with another fast car maybe next summer but maybe a true sports car. Waiting to see the M8, GT500 an older 911 turbo or something along those lines.

Thing is the M5 has been a weekend car for about a year now as my commute mileage since we moved (100 miles a day) was killing my lease miles and wallet lol. I have been driving my 2015 Camry back and forth don’t care about mileage and gas is a third. I am opening a new office about 25 miles away from my house in August so probably won’t DD the Raptor until then.

Again thank you all glad to be here love the truck and will keep you posted!

If you had to go w/ 1 vehicle it’s a no brainer. Raptor over M5 all day- way more practical/useful & can be MORE fun to drive depending where you go w/ it lol! I saw the other poster mentioned missing his previous M5, I live in MA so a car like that would NEVER be truly practical as a DD- for me anyhow, roads are brutal, salt brine/sand & long cold winters just punish vehicles especially low riding ones. I have an ‘03 C5Z well modded that I use to get my “speed fix” when necessary. But that car is obviously nothing but a personal transport vehicle/toy or hobby car.

Personally I wish I could increase my collection of rides to 3 (for me- wife drives MDX)- would love a large sports sedan like an M5 to go along w/ it so I could take whole fam on a “Joy ride” lol!! I actually want a wagon- CTS-V or E63

You’ll love the raptor- is this your first truck? If performance is lacking to you I assure you as far as trucks go, nothing else compares. +100hp/tq (at the crank) is always available w/ a tune...

So far I’ve added

Shorty antenna

Lomax cover

Bed rug

Black gorilla lugs

And a few bike carrying options

May spray the rear fender wells myself this weekend. Still deciding between that and installing the husky liners.

And a few pics with the soon to be gone M5

I've got a 2019 Oxford White as well. I installed an MPT tune this week and it really wakes the truck up. The tuned Raptor reminds me of a loaner X5 with the V8TT we got once when my wife's ride was in for service.

I had a 2014 M6 at one time in my life, so I feel you as far as performance drop off goes. All in all I much rather my Raptor to the M6 as a DD driver. In the Raptor I am never worried about hitting a pothole or having the bumper scrape a curb because I parked too close. Also, although different, I find the Raptor is more comfortable than the M6 on longer drives due to the softer suspension. Plus just the utility of having a truck for anything from bikes, to lowe's trips, to camping is awesome.

That being said, there are times where I do miss the insane pull my M6 had. So much power in those cars...
