Just wanted to introduce myself. I just purchased what is my drama truck. 2017 Raptor in Lightning blue. I have to say, the truck is amazing and beautiful. I did buy it used, 1 owners with 21k miles. It already has a steel front bumper and a Corsa exhaust. I traded in my 14 Toyota 4Runner that had quite a bit done to it, but was terribly lacking power. Here are a few pics from last night when I made the purchase.

I spend a lot of times on the forums and try to learn what I can from all the experts. Currently I’m getting around 16 mpgs, which is in Pat with the 4Runner.

I do have a couple of questions while I learn about this truck and forum. I hope y’all can help. First, I’ve noticed when coming to a stop, it seems to downshift hard in to 1st. I wasn’t sure if that is normal of the transmission or not. Second, I’ve noticed an almost assisted like feeling in the steering wheel about 2 times today. Kind of like it was helping me turn the wheel a few degrees. This thing has so many gadgets and settings, it’s almost overwhelming. Other than that, while checking out the engine bay today with a buddy, he noticed some wires that were cut leading in to a harness.

These are on the passenger side close to the firewall. Could this have been for some sort or tuner? Any one know what they were for by chance? The truck seems to run great, pulls hard, and doesn’t have any weird lights on. Thank you in advance and in the mean time, I’ll keep searching and learning.

As far as the steering goes do you have the lane keeping system turned on? My 18 has the button on center console. The wires you mention should be your Aux switches in side your cabin. As far as transmission have not notice mine doing it however think you can first try resetting your adaptive transmission and see if that fixes it.

Those wires are for the upfitter switches up above the mirror. They can be used to control added lighting or a winch etc.

Nice rig... Are there any lights or a winch in the bumper? Anything wired into the aux switches?

Ah! Makes sense. I can tell the previous owner had a light bar installed on top of the bumper. That eases a lot of concern. Thank you!

I did turn lane keep assist on. I thought that was only the lights on the dash? Man, I have a lot to learn. My 4Runner felt ancient compared to this thing. I’ll have to look up the adaptive transmission and how to do that. Thank you.
