yes carrying emergency gas if you are 100 miles from the nearest gas station isn't a bad idea. There's a few other things that can be included as well.
It's called preparation.
Trucks are great, you have the room to carry whatever you need to get you out of 99% of the situations that you may get into. Put it to use.
