I'm a Ford Guy from the age of 15 when I was admiring my fathers 67 mustang. He was always a Ford Guy, I'm a Ford Guy and it seems so is my son since he has been driving a 2010 Explorer.
I had my fathers 95 F150 which was beginning to develop transmission problems so I traded it on an f250 two years ago. (Sad to see the f150 go but she scared me as I had two teenagers driving it lifted with 35 mud terrains underneath. (Steering box issues-replace several times)
I've always admired the Raptor and when I bought the f250 I was looking at the Raptor but thought f150's selling 5 & 10 thousand over invoice wasn't something I was interested in.
Fast forward to May of 2014 and after shopping around on the internet and Ford Dealers within 200 miles of upstate South Carolina I found a dealer willing to order one with exactly what I wanted and not charge me thru the nose.
Was notified thru the salesman at the dealership that Ford has picked up the order and I've submitted my downpayment today.
I am excited to buy a truck that is already custom (lifted f150 gave me issues) and really love the flame blue I ordered.
I know this may sound odd but part of the reason I pulled the trigger on the Raptor was due to this forum. I've read a lot of posts and even a few from a ford rep that helped a member with issues on their truck. I thought if the support network and community is that strong, that's a place I want to be. It's nice to read posts without profane language and ugly comments to others.
Can't wait to post delivery photos...
