Welcome TRaptor! Great to have ya.

You sound a lot like me; tons of drag and road course experience (although I still suck) but zero offroad knowledge or know how. Thanks to guys like Dan, Mark, Brian and others I'm glad to say thats no longer the case. A nicer group of guys willing to teach and safely lead, you'd be hard pressed to find.

Hopefully I'll be joinin you and Dan and co later this month for your first time out!

Great call on the wheel wells. Thats on my todo. As for the strap, I dunno what it's really for, but it makes a perfect holder for my Spot device:

Again welcome! Looking forward to getting to know you better.

Brian's Raptor is actually white. Brian gets confused sometimes. We humor him and he seems to get better.

Just kidding. Brian is located in Orange and if you need any help with spending money on offroading goodies for your Raptor don't hesitate to contact him  He can help you if you need a ride-along Chevy mechanic named Kyle

Welcome to the forum! You will not be the only nube to go off-road so don't worry about that....I believe there will be at least one on a Flame Blue as well. ;)

I'm pretty much a newb myself when it comes to offroading. I wouldn't call sliding around some washes out at borrego serious offroading, but that is the extent of my previous experience. I look forward to meeting you guys and gaining some experience.

On the tint question, I'm going to have mine tinted soon. From my experience, I like around 35%. While not legal in this state, it is a common legal tint level in many other states - which shows their thinking from a safety point of view. I think darker than that really impacts driving at night.

Depends on how long you were sliding around. 10 mins = not off roading. 3 hours = off roading.

As for tint, my front was done to match the back, it looks good and if i get pulled over the shop will remove it for free. Its just a fix it ticket
