New Raptor at Dealership with 44 miles

Mine had 4 miles on it when I made my test drive. Had 16 when I picked it up but that included my test drive. All of these trucks are in fact driven on a dyno just before they leave the assembly plant to ensure they don't have any problems that need to be addressed. So they have been revved to red line at least once at the factory. If you don't like that one find another but I agree with others here that it hasn't been hurt. It's an HO engine and it can take it.

This is normal, and for the buyer it’s good. I have a 2017 era thread on my truck which was held for extra QA to the tune of ~109 miles. Dealer was spooked enough to give me the 4 page punch list.

Lucille is still going strong now

44 miles is barely a test drive. If you like it and the deal is acceptable, pull the trigger already

I ordered my 2017 as soon as the order banks opened in July 2016. it was built 11/0716 and held at ramp 59 for 6 weeks for QA testing. It had 99 miles when I took delivery and hasn't had any issues yet @ 41K miles..

Thank you all for the feedback. Still trying to figure out if the on board computer will identify red line REVs. I realize there are differences in opinions when it comes to break in periods. I know all of my MB AMG vehicles had very specific break in requirements, and are posted directly on the inside of the windshield. The Germans certainly know their engineering, it can’t hurt to follow similar break-in with any new Vehicle, especially the performance ones.

I wouldn't worry too much about test drives. More than likely if someone test drove it the salesman would go with them.

I just bought a new 2019 SCREW in early November and it had 36 miles on it, and I really didn't care, that's equivalent to being test driven a couple times. I also got $6K off the MSRP, so wasn't worrying about 36 miles. And if the thing is going to fall apart from a couple aggressive test drives, then something is wrong to begin with.

It’s your money, spend it as you wish. It sounds like the issue may be a dealbreaker for you. You probably will have to compromise somewhere to get exactly what you want. Most likely, Time. The time to find another dealership that has a raptor with all your requirements or to order and wait for a new one to be built and delivered fresh from the factory. Then you can see the Raptor roll off the truck before being handed the key.

The dilemma of finding a Raptor that checks all your boxes except one is REAL. Where do you compromise? Who knows what could have happened in those 44 miles? Right now those 44 miles are significant. After 50k miles, not so much, less than 1%.

Myself, I’d take the truck and run. But, you do you. Because at the end of the day it’s your truck and your $.

You know AMG redlines on the dyno during the engine build right?
