GEN 2 New owner!

glad to say I will be joining the raptor family this coming summer. I'm currently trying to decide between magnetic and oxford white for color options, and will be going with the 802a package.

As of now my plan is to go with the magnetic grey with the stock cast aluminum rims. Once the truck is ready, I plan on tinting front windows then swapping the wheels with possibly some bronze beadlocks, maybe some methods or something? and also doing a radar scanner installation, and new sound system (given any ford ive ever ridden in has a shit sound system I dont have high hopes for the raptor). Don't need anything too intense for a sound system, just something with a bit more kick to it. After I get all of that sorted out, if I have some money left over i'm also looking to install some fogs and possibly a light bar or two, as well as a wrap. trying to keep things simple.

I should be putting in the order sometime in the next few weeks I imagine, but was wondering how long it typically takes from the time an order is put in and the time it is delivered.

Maaaybeee.... It really all depends on how many allocations the dealer has and which one you are with them. As an example, if the dealer has 5 allocations and you get number 3, you would be waiting for the 3rd one that dealer has assigned to them. Say you order in September, being 3rd in line of 5. Well, the dealers allocations are spread throughout the year and the 3rd allocation isn't scheduled to be built until February, the 4th in April and the 5th in June.

I believe the allocations are spread out over the production year regardless of when you place the order. The only exception to this I believe is if the dealer doesn't place any orders until later in the year. Then this would seemingly "speed up" the process but it is just that the allocations are being fulfilled because the allotted allocations were not previously built/ requested with orders.

This is just my theory, if I am wrong I am wrong. Its one of those things you figure out and think it makes sense.... I'm going with it

Any new status on your order you were planning to put in?

Working on an order for a 2018 through my local dealer. Still looking for a 2017 as well if I can find one at msrp near the west coast, as I'd like to have one of them for the summer

One at msrp on the west coast might be hard from what others have encountered here. If you want it soon, start searching a ways away for msrp. You can order the exact one you want, but be prepared for a wait. The 2018s may not be as long of a wait though.
