New owner here MPT tune questions

Let me start off by saying I've been a FORD guy for a long time I used to race mustangs with the NMRA back in the early 2000's. I know fast cars. I have a 2018 Raptor and my business partner has a 2019 Raptor. We have about 12K on each right now. I ordered the MPT tuner for the truck. but I just want to know everyone's opinion on what tune(s) I should order. I drive the truck daily and on long trips for business. I don't really tow anything. In GA I can get 87,89 and 93 octane fuel. I usually drive in Sport because it just feels better to me. I run 89 now but don't mind going to 93. The shifting is great in normal mode but it sport it can get annoying on the downshifting.

Sorry if this post is annoying to some, the site is great and I'm just looking for some honest opinions.

Since you like Sport mode except for the downshifts, you will probably like their 93 PR-X tune the best. I run their 93 PR-X with no transmission tuning because some of the things that you experience with a stock tune (early upshifts, some lugging with low RPMs) become a non-issue with the extra power. It is only $75 extra to get three tunes instead of one, so I would order the 93 PR-X, 93 PR-X with no transmission tuning, and a 91 Performance Tow tune (the last tune is useful for trips where 93 octane may not be available and you can tow with it).

I just got mine and run the 93 PR-X I like it but not sure about the shifting sometimes. I might order the tune without it. I got the 91 performance and 93 performance tunes as well have not tried those yet.

Out of curiosity, what about the shifting isn't sitting right with you?

Just the downshift in sport mode. I can live with it, not really that bad.

I don't know it seems weird to me sometimes it feels great other times like what was that but its crazy fast and just wants to go. I may try 93 PR-X without trans tune to compare.

I love the 5 Star Tune 93 Octane. In regular mode it's like the trucks stock sport mode but not agreesive shifting unless you get on it but it's smooth and fast! In sport mode the truck is a beast and bit harder shift points.. I wouldnt drive it all the time in that as it holds gear a bit higher untill rpm is reached but what a difference.

I had the same feeling and reloaded my tune and feels great. Not sure if I forgot how it felt or what however feels great now. I’m sure it’s all in my head.
