You guys have a hobby shop on base? If so they usually have a mechanic or two to help out.
Yeah we do and thats where I plan on doing it. Have some feelers out for a little extra help right now.

how do you like Fairbanks and Alaska?
I'm trying to get up to AK either Anchorage or Fairbanks after I PCS from Campbell next year... don't think it will happen but I'm still hoping.
Depends on what you like to do and if you have a family or not. Theres not much to do in FBX. If you like to hunt and fish then I guess its probably great but I dont do that. Not much for a family to do.
Id have rather gone to Anchorage. The base is nicer cuz its joint with the AF and theres more to do in Anchorage and its closer to all the tourism stuff.
Fairbanks is limited cuz its so desolate that none of the big business really want to come up here due to the cost of shipping materials. IE Applebees, Olive Garden etc. Think of a resteraunt thats NOT fast food, we DONT have it.
Try for Anchorage in my opinion. Wish Id have gotten there. Plus the winter down there isnt as harsh on vehicles but still harsh. Feel free to PM if you have more questions.
