I am like you. Have a Camaro I have had since my hay days. Daily driver for years. Took it off the road and basically turned it into something of a bracket car/max effort street car several years ago. Non narrowed 10” tire with Ford 9”, 400SBC 400 turbo manual/transbrake, subframes, 6 point roll bar, etc etc etc as you know what’s in these things. Need to finish body refresh and paint. Good 10 sec pump gas car.
Small block or big block for the S-10? NA or Forced fed?
Raced with my brother for years all over. He’s a true Pontiac guy, 455’s.
You guys race in FL at all over the years? Gainesville? Or?
Saw you were from Bogart with an Avalanche. I'm from Athens and also have an Avalanche but live in Destin FL now. I bought mine without ever sitting in a Raptor or even paying attention to them on the Street. Was totally against not having a V8 in a truck. My business partner said buy the truck and was extremely adamant so I did, in March. Bought in Atlanta and it was shipped to Destin without me ever seeing it other than photos. I still take many unnecessary trips to run errands or do something useless just so I can drive it even having used it all day at work. Enjoy.
that’s solid!! I haven’t built a full on drag car yet. My s-10 will be getting a mild 350. Going carb with it. Just trying to be consistent and not spend a fortune trying to hook. Just want to close the gap on some of the faster cars.
My dad has raced In FL and Gainesville many times When he raced ran a stocker. Won class at the gators in mid 00’s. I was running his business while he was gone so I hardly ever got to go. G/SA Duster. We race at Atlanta Dragway mostly now I’m sportsman. I’m
Too busy to mess with anything else and have plenty of fun.
Thats cool man. Honestly I have seen guys win more money, with very consistent mildly built cars. These guys were well seasoned bracket racers and normally right on. Breaking less often is a lot more fun too. I tend to over build and always wanted reliability.
Hey looks like you already put some lighting in the bumper pockets.
my dad has been racing since the 70’s so he has guided me well on the build. I wanted to go big. He was deadly with a 69 rambler with a 199 I6. “Slow white”. If it isn’t consistent in bracket racing it’s an awful time. Lol
yea those lights were already on when I got it. Haven’t driven it at night yet so not sure what they’re like. Going to tonight as my buddy is driving three hours to hang out and ride in truck. And drink whiskey...
