Been kicking tires here locally in Cali

Haven't had much luck with finding local dealers with inventory nor wanting do any negotiating.

Open to shop out-of-state and even open to the possibility of used 2019?

Stealerships in urban and high population markets take advantage of unknowing customers. You can either pay them or go somewhere else and pay less for the same thing. At least in the USA, CA is an odd duck (no pun intended). Use the Ford build and search tool to find what you want. set a different zip code to get out of the local market.

I ended up getting my Gen2 (sold) out of state because of the mark-ups that the stealerships wanted to charge me in CA. There are plenty of used ones out there. Good luck man.

I will publish a few dealerships here in the next day or two that are offering invoice pricing and have said they might be able to do a bit better if already on the lot.

I just picked up a new 2020 below sticker... out of state. I used cargurus, carfax, and truecar to find this gem. Covid deals are out there!
