Hi everyone, I've been scouring the forums for a few months now, and I just decided to join. I'm a long time member of the dezertrangers.com. I have a 2005 (purchased new) Ford Ranger with a mid-travel kit. Sale pending, because I decided to move to a full size F-150. Once I got the truck, I would put 10k into in upgrades like suspension, wheels, and tires. I decided that's a huge waste of time and money considering how much I put into the Ranger, and I would essentially do the same thing to the F-150. So I'm going big with a Raptor. Decided that is best, and I would keep it relatively stock, and that would suit my off-road/DD needs. I'm going for 2017 Raptor Supercrew.

I figured might as well get myself out there in the forums. I've been into the off-road thing forever now. Raised in it pretty much. Riding dirt-bikes my whole life. Into all the standard desert/motorsports stuff. Gorman, Rowler Flats, Hollister Hills, Pismo, Glamis, Dumont, Mojave Trail, are a few of my usual spots. I'm looking to continue doing trail runs in the Raptor. Camping with the GF and dogs, hauling my bike, desert meets, and mostly DD are my goals for this new truck.

I probably won't purchase the truck right at ordering time, I'm just presuming it will probably be mass hysteria. Correct me if I'am wrong. I see that most members in the past have ordered the truck, waited 8-10 weeks, and paid slightly over invoice. I would like to do the same, if possible out here in the greater LA area. Any help, advice, guidance for the process of getting the truck as close to invoice as possible is highly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum @mxer105!

I think with the additional demand from skipping production on two model years, the deals near invoice may be harder to find on the 2017.

Time on ordering can also vary significantly, as it can be much longer if a dealer does not have enough allocations to fill their orders. My order took almost 21 weeks.
