Hey everyone,
Recently (2 months ago) purchased a 2012 Gen 1 SVT Raptor
Truck came basically stock, except for magnaflow exhaust and some lights the owner put into the front bumper pockets that I removed - oh and the fuel pump fuse has already been relocated and upgraded . The seller was the first owner and the truck only had 50k miles. Interior and exterior are in great condition. Didn't find any rust, heating/cooling seats work, engine bay was super clean, didn't see any damage between cabin and bed (from jumping or anything), and no sunroof so don't need to worry about that nonsense. The suspension looks like it original and will be upgraded down the road anyway so I am dealing the the creaking in sharp turns. Overall, super happy with the truck, especially since I got it for only $31k.
Since owning it I have done the following:
1. Morimoto headlights, side markers and grill lights, along with all the fancy light for the rear view mirror
2. Recon smoked out tail lights - NOTE to everyone: the ones from Morimoto have major fitment issues for the Gen 1. Were not even close to fitting.
3. Upgraded all interior lights to LED's from F150lighting
4. Paragon bed cover
5. Optima battery - original battery was fine but I was paranoid
6. EMP protection system
7. Spray painted all the black trim pieces including the rear view mirrors and grill with black bed liner
8. Did a full tune up - spark plugs, oil change, filter changes - not on trans yet - will do soon though.
9. Installed the aftermarket cabin filter kit (can't remember the brand, but only one guy makes it)
10. MR312 Method Wheels (matte black), with Mikey Thompson Baja boss tires
11. B+M Transmission dipstick
12. LED reverse light bulb also from F150lighting
13. 50 Cal. antenna from recon (the final touch )
Next on the list
- Full RPG suspension kit
- Lower control arms (regular width) from RPG)
- Lower control arm doublers (reinforcement)
- trackbars
- mishimoto aluminum radiator, houses, transmission cooler , etc (basically all the upgradeable cooling system parts)
- larger oil pan on trans when I do the filter change and oil change
- ADD honey badger front and rear bumper (not totally sure on this yet and open to ideas or suggestions)
Then ill probability go into drive train
- driveshaft, transmission, and bigger brakes
Lastly engine and wrap
- 2.9 Whipple kit from JDM engineering (bigger throttle body, 78# injectors)
- KOOKS full exhaust
- Matte olive green (military color) wrap
Yes, I know - it's gonna be crazy expensive. Plan is to do this over time as a little project and do most of the work myself.
