I.wouldnt settle for less than 750whp if I was to be spending all that $ honestly.

What I meant was what's ballpark $$$ for a 4.2 build? Like minimum to get the job done? I'll be going Dailey dry sump just because that's a badass setup to have haha

Yeah it'll make 1000 one day soon.

It's gonna be way up there by the time is all said and done. You need to do the trans too, big turbo kit (stock frame turbos are just too small) would be silly not to do the heads too. I wouldn't even want to take stab at the number other than say between 20 and 30 minimum. It adds up quick.

Yeah if one was spending 20k+, head work, bigger turbos in different location, intake manifold almost everything needs to get upgraded.

Who does trans work to handle that power and what do you think they are changing?

Well I know a stage 2 with ported heads will run you about 15k. Then its all the extra stuff like HPFP, Turbos, manifolds, Intake, port injectors, downpipes, etc add up. Then you have to do the install. Everything adds up pretty dang quick.

I’ll be interested in the gen3 if they bring a v8 with it but I’d never change my gen2, I am very happy to maintain it well and run it hard. I’d rather pay for a lot of HP in a vehicle that has a safe top end well over 100mph....

I did a random time and hit 0-60 in under 5 seconds with only a couple mods and a tune. If I didn’t have these monstrously heavy wheels and tires, I would be in the lower 4s I am sure. If you want to be fast, just get some lightweight forged rims and lighter all terrain tires. That and the basics will get you just as fast as TRX I am sure. I have seen numerous members with just tunes running mid 4s, which is TRX land factory. Not to mention you probably have at least 25% more range before refueling.

People build these engines everyday and make big power from them so I’m not buying you’ve done everything to it. You have in your mind you have to have a v8 so sell what you have and buy a gen 1 and save yourself some money

I’m wondering why you think a V8 is going to take you to the land of milk and honey. Stock 5.0Ls in the Mustang GT make 460 HP and 420 lb. ft. The 3.5 HO is at 450 and 510. Even if you put the Ford Performance Stage 2 kit on the 5.0L, you’re looking at 480. With full bolt ons and an aggressive tune, you might get mid to low 500s. Add a Supercharger, you can be anywhere from 500-700ish.

So, let’s say you go that route. Hypothetically, it’s 10k minimum for a good Coyote. Then your S/C kit which is 7-10. Then your trans which needs to be beefed up. On top of that, you need to find a shop who is knowledgeable enough to mate that powertrain with a highly sophisticated chassis and drivetrain and get it running properly. That’s not going to be cheap either.

So I’m mighty curious at this point to find out what your dyno sheets were coming in at considering you have ‘all the mods’. I’m also mighty curious to know where exactly you’re using all this HP at. If I keep my foot in it, I’m doing 90+ by the end of a short on-ramp. That’s good enough for me.
