If I had to buy another truck other than a Raptor, it would be a Chevy. I had a Silverado before the Raptor, and beat on it harder than the Raptor. The dang thing wouldn't break. I am somewhat confused from what I am hearing, I wear Chevy racing shirts, and drive a Raptor!

There's brand loyalty and then there's brand loyalty among pickup truck owners. The latter, at times, borders on fanaticism.

It's a double edged sword for the manufacturers - they want to keep their loyal owners while adding more. How do they win over new customers while keeping theirs? Is making a better product enough to win over other brand loyalists?

I know the Raptor has done that for Ford. Many Ford Raptor owners are first-time Ford truck owners.

Build it and they will come.

Well hope the new ad's work out for them. I too was a long time Silverado owner and still would be it they had something even remotely similar to the Raptor (and no the ZX2 concept wouldnt have kept me with GM) but unfortuantely they are a little behind and it was time for a new truck......and along came the Raptor! There's just something about factory Fox and 35's that made me cave in and buy it!

I am GM at heart, but all that does is skew me... in other words if there was a chevy version of the raptor that was basically the same but cost a little more I would have bought it. If dodges were 3-4K cheaper I would have bought a dodge and built it up... I got the Ford because it was the best balance.

To me the regular current gen looks horrible. The Dodge looks the best.
The motor department is preety even between chevy and dodge.
Mopar has the worst tranny
Chevy has a nice locking dif... better than anything in the dodge (except powerwagon) or ford (except trx4)
ford and dodge are similar interior better than chevy

So until the raptor came along it came down to price...

Not really...

I still think that the LS motors are better than the MOD motors. I think that the Ford now has the best build quality of the big three. I love sync.

If the Ram runner was actually available, or if the power wagon was a 1500 I would have a ram. if Chevy had started putting their 6.2 in the lower end trucks earlier and had a decent offroad package I would own a chevy.

I've bought other vehicles including GM trucks but I love my Ford dealer and the guys in the service dept. It makes the decision for me 90% of the time...that and all my info is on file at the Ford dealer and I can have a new ride in 30 min. So much crap and stupid negotiations at dealers. Needless to say the ad campaigns do nothing for me other than entertain me...I like to see the cool things companies come up with. My current favs are the new Jeep adds.

I am most interested in the TT motor. Not really sure how I feel about the 6.2... I took a pass on it in the raptor. I really am looking forward to what a little work does to that motor.
