We're happy to announce that the new Baja Designs S2 SAE are now available on our website.

The all new S2 SAE delivers an impressive 1,210 lumens per light with an output reaching up to 5712 candela (measured) at just 12.42W. Stay safe while illuminating Zone 1 with a controlled, sharp cut off from the combination of new LED technology and highly efficient aspheric projector optics.

The S2 SAE lights are designed to meet SAE J583 fog lamp requirements making it fully compliant with road regulations. This innovative approach allows for a highly controlled light pattern with a sharp cutoff making them an ideal choice for driving through dust, fog, and inclement weather.

Available in both a Clear and Amber these lights are killer.

We actually got our hands on these months ago and got to see them first hand. They are VERY impressive. A REALLY killer fog pattern.

•Lumens: 1,210
•Wattage/Amp: 12.49W/0.9A
•Dim: 2.93” x 1.76” x 1.68”
•New aspheric projector optics

The new Baja Designs S2 SAE Lights are IN STOCK! These things are awesome!

We did some quick tests today. Here are our results. This was only about 15-20' from the source

Baja Designs S2 SAE Clear: 290 lux
Baja Designs S2 SAE Amber: 275 lux

Diode Dynamics SSC2 Sport Clear: 207 lux
Diode Dynamics SSC2 Sport Yellow: 190 lux

Diode Dynamics SSC2 Pro Clear: 295 lux
Diode Dynamics SSC2 Pro Yellow: 290 lux

So you're really comparing the Baja Designs S2 SAE against the Diode Dynamics SSC2 Pro when it comes to output since both are very similar in output levels.

The Baja Designs cut-off is a tad bit more obvious over the Diode Dynamics. But that's against a clear wall. In the real world you would not be able to tell with them aimed at the ground.

The Baja arc on the bottom is opposite of the Diode arc on the bottom however.

When installed in a fog kit both the Diode Dynamics and Baja Designs lenses will need to be flipped in order to keep that nice cut-off in the proper orientation.

Baja Designs uses a 5000k temperature while Diode Dynamics uses a 6000k temperature. Baja's temperature is designed to help with eye fatigue over long driving (which is why they've always gone with a 5000k temperature). However in real world applications for fog lights that's something you may not notice much.

Honestly both are winners in our book. The Baja Designs S2 SAE are about $10 more over the Diode Dynamics SSC2 Pros. The Diode Dynamcis do feature the back-lighting however the Baja Designs warranty is lifetime compared to 8 years with the Diode Dynamics.

Baja Designs housings are more durable when it comes to abuse on the road over the Diode Dynamics lights.

When used as one of our triple fog kits you'll save a lot of money going with the Diode Dynamics over the Baja Designs for about the same amount of light, you're just giving up that lifetime warranty and the extra durability of the housing.

Can't go wrong with either kit!

Here are some photos (we didn't shoot photos of the Pros... well we DID but I lost one of the photos of the white and honestly I didn't feel like re-shooting it, since it's just a brighter version of what you see pictured here).
