Scrub, scrub, and scrub with All Purpose Cleaner and a brush.

Even if it does not completely clean off, the Super VRT will help cover and hide the mud stains.

Good call, because I SCRUBBED like a **** and the dirt stains are pretty permanent on my engine bay hoses haha. The price you pay for fun. I'll try the VRT too. It shoulda dawned on me already after it made my tires look brand new even after there had been "permenant" mud stains on those too. Thanks Dan

So quick update, I did try the Super VRT on the muddy hoses... and holy crap it does work. I don't know if it merely covers the mud or cleans it, but I spent probably 30 minutes buried in my engine bay sweating my nuts off trying to get every rubber hose or plastic surface, it's legit.

Good to hear you had great results!

I would say the Super VRT mostly covers the stains up, but it will help with some cleaning since it soaks into the rubber, and can work some of the stain to the surface.

For rubber hoses and tires with major mud staining, it may take a few cleanings and applications of Super VRT to work the stains out. On mud stained tires, it took me a couple washes over a few weeks to get some stains out. Scrub good with All Purpose Cleaner, let dry, dress with Super VRT. Then repeat at the next wash or two.

Also, the Super VRT adds protection, to prevent the staining in the first place, on both hoses, tires, and plastic.

The Tire Shine product does not soak in as much on the tires, so it does not work as well to cover stains and work them to the surface. The Tire Shine, does, however, seal up the tires a litte bettter, and also lasts longer through washes and rain.

So if your tires are clean, Tire Shine is the one to use. If your tires have stains, use Super VRT to help hide stains and help with the next cleaning.

So tire shine on hoses should help protect them

Stick with Super VRT on the hoses. Since you will also be using In & Out Spray in the engine bay to get the hard to reach areas and things like the corrugated wire looms, then staying with Super VRT on the hoses and larger plastic areas keeps the type of product the same, since In & Out Spray is basically an aerosol version of Super VRT.

I have not tried it, but I would think that using Tire Shine on the hoses and then In & Out Spray on the rest may make more of a mess, since these two products are different.

I like to do the In & Out Spray first, then use the foam block to apply the Super VRT, while also using the applicator to knock down any areas where the In & Out Spray was too heavy or overpsrayed onto something else.
