I traded a ‘22 AT4x with the 6.2 V8 for my Raptor. I had no real issues with the truck in 40k miles. The on-road ride was good, and the interior is nice with higher quality leather than the Ford. Also, the cameras had better resolution than my Raptor. Finally, I prefer the brake and steering feel of the GMC.You didn't care for the AT4X AEV? I had the Duramax in my 2023 AT4 and too many DEF and Regen issues. The deals on 2025 AT4X had me reconsidering though. I got rid of my 2023 Raptor because of so many small sensor issues that couldn't be resolved. I've had my eye on a 2025 802A...but it's a tough call.
Since my truck was a ‘22, it didn’t have sport mode. In normal mode it didn’t feel particularly quick unless you got the revs up. It wasn’t slow, but the Raptor feels quicker from a dig.
There are other things I didn’t love about the GMC. I don’t like piano black plastic, and the GMC had a fair amount inside. Also, you can’t get full screen CarPlay on the infotainment center on the AT4x. The 24 gallon gas tank is way too small for a 15.5 mpg truck. There is also no button in the bed to turn on bed lighting. The radar cruise makes you push the gas pedal if the truck comes to a complete stop for just a few seconds. Finally, there is no ambient lighting or walk up exterior lighting. At least on my ‘22.
I liked my GMC just fine. However, I like the Raptor better. I just hope it holds up as well. My AT4x was rattle free and still looked basically new inside after almost 3 years and 40k miles.
