Also, if a dealer sells you a vehicle that you build and then have to wait 9 months for, you really didn't get a "deal" even if you pay below msrp.

That is true, there is a trade off with anything. In my case my order was placed in early Oct and the truck is in transportation now, so i don't consider it that long to wait for what I want. I also did not have to put any deposit down on the truck. If I had to put 5k down and wait 6+ months just to buy it at MSRP then that totally changes the value of a "deal".

In most places msrp is good. But pricing is regional. No doubt in some places you can get below msrp. Especially in rural areas. I was happy to pay msrp, but then again I did have to buy mine over a year ago too.

IMO MSRP is fair and normal, which means a good deal is under MSRP.
