Don't bet on it. Lighter weight truck and more power. Truck will be quick. I've made turbo 4bangers outrun v8s off road in similar vehicles.

yea but you can always only get so much out of that v6. If current raptors really wanted to expand our motors, we can make a lot more than they ever will. Plus we will have that v-8 sound instead of a rice burner sound.

Always remember....theres no replacement for displacement.

Auxiliary switches on the headliner? OMG those will be hell to wire up if Ford engineers are behind this. GRRR!!!!!

HA! I'm willing to bet they were listening over the last several years. Let's look forward to an AUX switch solution where you don't come away looking like your hand got stuck in a garbage disposal.

+1.

Although, exhaust notes typically suffer, and we know Raptor owners love thumpin. I'm interested to hear what the new platform sounds like through that beastly looking rear split dual. I'm sure it won't disappoint, but to compare it to the existing setups will be interesting.

Ok folks,

Now that it's official, we have a new section for the 2017 F-150 Raptor. Are we not calling it an "SVT Raptor" anymore?

Here are some pics, please feel free to add more.

At the time of this post, this is what we know:

  • The Raptor will be 500 pounds lighter than the current model.
  • The new Raptor’s engine will be a 3.5L Ecoboost V6 with a new aluminum block and upgraded internals, revised heads, and tweaked fuel-delivery equipment for a rumored 450-500HP.
  • The new Raptor will be ~6" wider than the standard new model 2015 F-150.
  • 10-speed transmission.
  • Paddle shifters!
  • 6 Upfitter (AUX) switches.
  • Push button start!
