Years ago I worked at a ford dealer in new car make ready and receiving. Most cars were shipped by rail and I have seen everthing from broken windshields to bullet holes in doors and fenders. The process was file insurance claims, fix em, paint em. sell em.

Funny you say that. Boeing makes the 737 fuselages in Kansas and ships them by rail to Washington for final assembly. Those make an irresistible target and they are always patching bullet holes after they arrive.

So what did the dealer agree to do for you, if anything? I seriously doubt they will do anything other than look over it to make sure the repair was done correctly. Seeing as how the bumper is a different color, there shouldn't be an issue with color match.

I tell you what does really suck, about 2 weeks after taking delivery of my 2017 I hit a large concrete planter when I was picking up some sod at a landscape supply business and scratched the paint on my bumper and slightly cracked the plastic insert in it. Doh! I knocked it right over, I don't know WTF it was doing in the area where they load customer's vehicles, but it was my fault for not noticing it.
