Hey all! I'm trying to track down a couple wires in the passenger (or driver side if need be) door channels under the plastic scuff plates. What I'm looking for are the two wires that operate the power folding mirrors.
From my understanding the power folds operate by switching polarity. When they fold out, one wire has a low voltage current applied. When they fold in the other one has the current. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Any way, what I'm trying to do is tie my new WSI powerfold light rack into the powerfold mirrors. Its actuator operates the same way by switching polarity to go in or out, only it uses a full 12volts. So my plan, if I can find the two correct wires, is to splice into each wire, connect each to a separate relay, and then connect to the actuator on the rack. Does this sound about right? I'll also be installing a switch so i can manually fold it, separate from the mirrors. Ultimately, though I want it to always fold down when the mirrors fold in, for the safety of my garage door!
Anyway, if anyone could help, I'd sure appreciate it. I'm going to try to get it done this afternoon/evening, if possible. Thanks!
