Sounds like $ is an issue so let someone else take the depreciation hit. The trade you're considering sounds used heavily offroad - condition? frame? Look around find a clean used loaded '11 or '12 - so many are owned by pussyfoots who just drive them on pavement - they are like new without a scratch on them
Money isn't exactly an issue I just thought it would be more responsible to not go buy a brand new raptor and spend money on all new stuff. Especially since I just bought my first house, bought a new Harley and co-signed on my gf's 2012 Focus. But the more I think about it a new one just seems to be the best option. haha.
The used 6.2 definitely has been offroad but from what I can tell has just be on trails and not high speed desert or pismo kind of stuff like I have done with mine. The stock skid plate wasn't dented or even scraped, frame looked straight based on the cab and bed gap. The only signs of offroading is that it shows signs that it has been really muddy and there are tree branch scrapes down the sides. The white does a good job at hiding it but the plastic between the side windows and the mirror plastic shows them clearly. Narrow trails are pretty common at the 4x4 park that happens to be 10 minutes from the dealer so I am pretty sure the guy only took it there.
I agree about either finding a unmolested 2011/2012 or place an order for a 2013.

I wouldn't ever trade a '10 for a '10. At LEAST get an '11. No front locker, but the little baby changes are so drastic! There are new one's out there still on dealer lots for an absolute SONG!
Can someone point me in the right direction to a thread that discuses the differences between the 2010 - 2013. I don't want to ask what has already been answered.
