Need a better snatch strap

This is the second one I've broken in a year...Smittybilt CC330 3" x 30' Recovery Strap - 30,000 lb Capacity.

Had about 5 pulls (practically new). The sewn loop on the ends is the weak link. It was about -5 F, but that shouldn't make too much difference.

Anyone have any experience with ARB's stuff? Pro Comp? Guess there's a reason Smittybilt's are half the price for the same strength rating?

I'll just keep a D-ring attached to the torn end on this one.

Snatch, using kinetic energy. That's why I want one of these things because the recovery vehicle doesn't have to have ideal traction... just a little momentum. As opposed to a Tow Strap like the Smittybilt.

Damn I just have a cheap one I got at a local farm store. Only time I have used it was to pull out a chevy that was basically stuck in wet grass. Is it worth it for $325?

Over the years I've bought many straps and have never had one fail from a manufacturing defect. That should be replaced under warranty - they will be able to see you didn't abuse it because it's so clean.
The reason I go with the cheap ones (always have a couple on board) is because the dirt and fines get trapped in the fibers of the strap(rope). Over the long run, this causes abrasion and deterioration and the strap will eventually fail.

The Bubba rope is nice, but for a piece of equipment I deem as "someday disposable", I would rather buy a few straps. Besides - the flat portion of a strap makes it easier to thread through another vehicle's suspension/frame when there's no place to properly use a shackle/clevis.

I highly recommend getting them with the bag to keep everything together, neat and clean. Also makes it simple to move from vehicle to vehicle.

I currently am carrying the 1" kinetic recovery rope from billet4x4.

And just to clarify and reiterate...

The Smittybilt CC330 is a recovery strap...not a "snatch" or "kinetic" rope. It is designed more for towing...NOT designed for jerking a stuck vehicle free.

It really makes all the difference to have the rebound engineered into the rope or strap when jerking a vehicle free. Takes the load off from the tow vehicle significantly.

Much too dangerous to have straps breaking with heavy metal shackles potentially flying through the air. How not to do it:
