nail in my tire

So i got a nail pretty dam close to the sidewall. I have the stock bfgs my cousin works at discount tire as an assistant manager. He said that they wont repair it there so should i just buy a new tire or patch it up. I took a pic of it today.

Plug and move on. Not close enough to the sidewall to warrant a new tire.

Are you sure he's your cousin? :rofl: That's lousy advice.

Pull the nail and see how long the nail is (it could be very short) and if it lets any air out of the tire as it may not be punctured. If it's a thru-hole, plug it, patch it and, as the above poster said, you can use it as your spare.
