nail in my tire

So i got a nail pretty dam close to the sidewall. I have the stock bfgs my cousin works at discount tire as an assistant manager. He said that they wont repair it there so should i just buy a new tire or patch it up. I took a pic of it today.

buy a plug kit and then remove the nail. It probally didn't puncture the tire, but if it did, you will be able to plug it.

Plug and move on. Not close enough to the sidewall to warrant a new tire.

Your tires are new, no tread wear, and the nail is near the edge, I don't think it punctured the tire.

If your going to fix it, I would only use a PLUG-PATCH, and if your still a little uneasy about it, swap it out with the spar tire, I used them on my street bikes, never had a problem at 100 plus mph, here's a link on plug-patches, a good tire shop should have them.

Are you sure he's your cousin? That's lousy advice.

Pull the nail and see how long the nail is (it could be very short) and if it lets any air out of the tire as it may not be punctured. If it's a thru-hole, plug it, patch it and, as the above poster said, you can use it as your spare.
