Mystery fluid around transfer case..

Hi anyone know what this fluid could be, feels more solid than the transfer case oil. Its green/yellowish.

Yea, it kind of looks like "fling" from a rotating component, not a typical leak.

Id wipe it and see if it comes back. Best case scenario, its a 1 time deal from a glob of assembly lube or something like that.

Kind of looks like the milkshake you get when coolant mixes with oil. Did you pull the dipstick and check it out?


Other than that it could be some kind of bearing grease? Problem is I cant think of anything in that area that uses a grease like that.


Hopefully you just ran over something...

Turned out to be a bad driveshaft from transfer case to the front wheels. Seems it was not balanced right from the factory. Replaced under warranty.
