Mysterious Insulation

Guys,

I drive a 2019 SCAB. We have been having critter problems here. Rats and such have been getting into engine compartment and chewing various parts. I recently found this "insulation" on the ground under my truck.

Can anyone tell me where it goes?

Is it important enough to take truck to dealership for repair?

That does not appear to be durable enough to block heat or noise. Is it possible the critters or the wind brought it to rest under the truck from somewhere else?

There was something like that wrapped around the battery in my '18. It fell apart after 3 years, I threw it in the trash. The rats did you a favor I guess.
