My solution for that POS stock jack

Floor jacks work fine in the dirt. You can carry a 2x4 or get a skid plate depending on what model jack you have. I've not needed either to date but I do carry a 2x4 in case.

I prefer a floor jack to a highlift. You don't have to droop out the suspension to get the tires off the ground by jacking up the axles or lower A arms depending on where your flat is. But everyone has their preference.

I have the floor jack with a skid plate that I use all the time but the hi lift is their mainly in case I'm sunk and need the height to get myself out. The hi lift can also be used as a winch.

I use the harbor freight 3 ton aluminum jack. The 2 ton will work too.

I did the same with harbor freight 3 ton and C4 skid plate and extension. Mounting to my truck bed this week.

What brackets are those?
I am looking to mount mine in the same manner to the inner lip of the bed rail but offset so it hangs below the top rail.
What did you mount the bracket too?
From the angle of the photo it looks like I should expect to see a nut and the end of the mounting bolt sticking out the side of the fender

I just ordered the Hi Lift Extreme 60", Hi Lift's mounting units, and handle keeper. Will mount up high on front wall of bed. I've got a Diamond Back bed cover, so it'll keep the jack out of the elements and from thieving eyes.

Reason for Hi-Lift over Harbor jack - the Hi-lift has more utilitarian uses out in the field and I've had a couple times while out on the road in emergency situations a tool of this nature would have been very helpful. The Harbor jack would not have helped. I'll use the safer floor jacks at home. But if I'm in the woods and the stock won't cut it, I'll bust out the Hi-Lift. Just my $0.10

Mine should actually be "exterior mods", not interior.

i just used the loc rac mount for the hi lift jack but went to ace hardware and picked up two u-shaped brackets and some 1 1/4" lag bolts with lock washers and flat washers to add some beef to the mounts...luckily no fenders were harmed in the mounting of the hi lift
