I am starting to put together a parts list of items to help push a bit more performance out of my 2019 SCAB and also dress it up a bit. Below is my initial list.

I am curious what others have done. My biggest question at this point is which vendor to use for the tune. Curious what your thoughts are of if you would do anything different on your trucks?

  • Cobb intake (I perfer their Carbon Fiber for looks)
  • Intercooler, I know Cobb sells one, but which one do you think offers the best performance? I am keeping the stock bumper and Adaptive Cruise Control.
    • Cobb?
    • Mishimoto?
    • AMS?
  • Tune. I will be running 91 or 93 octane. – I am not that familiar with tuning companies for the Raptor, so I am open to opinions on the best one for this setup.
    • Will custom remote tunes be as reliable as a standard canned tune from say Cobb? The Raptor is my daily driver so I want to ensure there are no quirks in the tune.
  • Which Turbo adapter is best I would prefer a high grade stainless if available.
    • SPD turbo adapters?
  • Which downpipes & high-flow cat would be best? I would prefer to spend more $$ to get really nice high-flow stainless ones that won’t go shot in a few years.
    • SPD high flow catted downpipes?
    • I assume the new cats will make it slightly louder?
  • I assume headers are not a thing really on the turbo V6 motor?
  • Exhaust - 2017-2020 Ford Raptor Borla Tailpipe Assembly with Carbon Fiber Tips
    • Boral S-Type Mid-Pipe & X-pipe Kit
    • Adapter pipe, if needed for SuperCab. (Is this a Borla part or included in the S-Type Mid-Pipe & X-pipe Kit?)
  • Throttle body (if bigger will help any)

  • Any other HP performance items you can think of?

I really would like to see 600+HP at the crank, curious where this would land.

Those mods will get you to 450 RWHP give or take a few. That’ll get you under 5 seconds to 60 and a low 13 quarter mile.

If you want bigger power on pump gas, it’s going to take upgraded turbos.

CR Engineering has 46mm turbos and manifolds that will open up a lot of possibilities but you’re limited somewhere under 600RWHP due to potential engine failure. The rumor is that Five Star has a few Raptors driving around with 600RWHP that haven’t fallen apart.

See Switzer circa 2017 for their project. They had engine failure over 600 but that may have been a fluke.

That’s about the extent of what I know. :)

There’s a thread I started on Turbo Adapters. The following information is in one of my posts for your comparison. While SPD is the most used based on responses on this forum, I went with AMS as it was stainless steel and significantly larger in diameter than either the SPD or Mountaintop:

“So I did some measurements based on diameters of the High Flow Turbo Exhaust Adapters comparing the AMS to the SPD (the Mountaintop is similar if not slightly larger diameter compared to the SPD). Measurement is the Internal Diameter.”

Stock Area is 21.56 cm2
SPD Area is 27.1 cm2 (increase of just under 26% over stock)
AMS Area is 34.12 cm2 (increase of 58% over stock and just under 26% over the SPD). AMS claims 54.8% larger than stock. My measurement of stock was based on the SPD measurement of stock likely accounting for the small difference.

The SPD’s look a bit “heavier” visually and made of “steel” but the AMS’s are made of 304 stainless steel.
SPD’s run $180-190
AMS’s run $112-130

Thank you for the information. Do you know what the RWHP on the stock engine is? I don't remember seeing that in my browsing. I assume it is around 18% power loss?

That is some excellent information! Exactly what I was looking for. Do you have a link to your thread?

Mostly around 20 percent.

Every dyno is a little different. With an aggressive tune and maximal bolt ons... it’s around 80 horsepower but you’ll also pick up a ton of low RPM torque and the power under the curve is much improved.

It’s a different truck for certain.

I believe that this ecoboost is capable of putting down similar wheel horsepower to the hellcat and even the upcoming 5.2 Liter GT500 motor with some buffer turbos.
