I was never a fan of mud flaps, but started getting sick of the road crap on my truck after washing it, being I still was 50/50 with it, I went with making my own, vs spending 50 bucks a set if I didn't like them, so far working very well, not getting the road spray like before, winter will be the big test.

I have the vortex and do like them but as others have said they don't stop road spray. However I do feel they help keep winter sledge south of the door handles so the handles themselves don't get caked with slush. In slightly moist conditions I'd say they also helped a smidgen keeping the truck clean.

I did break mine and they're currently held together with black zip ties so efficacy could be impacted but when I do finally demolish this set I'll probably replace them with another set of vortex because I do like the way they look and performance is what I'd expect from a mudflap.

i have Mudflaps (Vortex) only on the front just for the reason of keeping the door handles clean as they would get pretty nasty they also help keep ice from building up on the running boards. i have 1 winter and been muddin lots with them and had them pretty caked with mud and they have held up really well.

I found my full size mud flaps at DuraFlap.com
They are pre-drilled, and easy to install. I did not have to drill any holes in the metal of my truck, which means no rust.
They even have all kinds of different artwork, but I wanted mine to just disappear.
I used 12" wide, but you can get them 14" wide. I figure what gets past these mud flaps, will only me minor spray.
