I must have had mine too low as they were lost in the woods in Northern WI during a Raptor run. I will hopefully be getting a new set of Vortex flaps for Christmas. I like the slotted/vented look that the Vortex flaps offer.

What part of northern Wisconsin?

There was a group of us that met in Wausau to start our route. Midwest-WI trip

It was a great time, but the included self tapping screws did not hold the Vortex flaps on good enough. Pass side made it to about 4pm Saturday (thats when we noticed the pass side was missing) and drivers side made it part of the day Sunday. I am not exactly sure where they fell off...

I broke so many Vortex flaps off roading that I got tired of it. One great thing is they have a lifetime warranty and can even send back a partial piece, I know that because I have lost the bottom half before. In mud or snow they collect and get extremely heavy.

I switched to PDP and couldn't be happier.

Good to know. I'm only about an hour and a half from there.

The problem was the small self taper screws (supplied) on the plastic wheel lip molding. Solution, install longer screws into the steel OR use a nut/bolt/washer so it cannot pull through the wheel lip molding (preferred method so I dont compromise the corrosion protection).

I just installed a set of the PDP ones this weekend. I went with using the three stock mounting bolts/washers on the rear. For some reason though they sit 13" off the ground to be able to use the top of the three mounting holes. In the write up I saw here it was listed as 12" off the ground and pics show top hole used so not sure what the deal is. I wanted them to all be the same so the front are 13" off the ground too. For the front I used 4 stainless self tapping screws into the plastic flares. I also did two sided foam tape on the fronts as well. Hopefully between the two sided tape and four self tappers they will hold up. I might throw one more self tapper in on each flare just to make sure. I don't want to drill into the metal so this appears to be the best option.

Do you have any pictures? I have set waiting to be installed and am trying to decide how far down they should be.
