Is there something built into the roof of the 2013 Raptor that would cause a magnetic field that interferes with the operation of the Point-1 compass made by Lowrance. Has anyone else mounted one of these for their GPS system on their roof and had it actually work? I have mounted two different ones now, and neither one has worked. I have tried various locations on the roof and something is always interfering with the headings. I have no other antennas or items mounted on the roof other than the satellite antenna that came from the factory. Any advice would be appreciated.

Mine is mounted on the dash and I could never get the heading to calibrate. Had to revert to my unit's heading to make it work. My conversations with Lowrance were not helpful.

Mine lowrance works perfectly fine with the internal antenna. I was thinking about getting the external mount but fist see the need for it! Hope you get it figured out man

I guess it could be the satellite radio antenna. There has been a lot of talk about how crowded the frequency bands are becoming these days. A while back there was concern over interference regarding a zillionaire that wanted to put a satellite based phone service next to the military's GPS band. I don't know if the two bands are close to each other....

Where are you mounting it? Mine is mounted just ahead of the brake light and slightly to the left. My radio antenna is mounted on the opposite side of the brake light from the GPS. I haven't had an issue.

I tried that same location and it did not work. I have tried the very center of the roof, and it did not work. I have also tried just above the driver and it still does not work. I thought it was just a bad unit, so I had the dealer send me a replacement and it does not work in any of those locations either. Must be something else wrong. Grrr.
