Alright, finally came up with a solution.... took about 4hrs of making constant adjustments but it holds it solid and is really really quick in and out.
Just used a pvc pipe with a bolt and nut thru it on the bed hook so it moves around but holds tight. A "u" shaped hook I screwed into a broom handle and slid into the pvc pipe. Ran a bolt thru that and out the other side I used to run a rubber bungee cord around to pull the seat post into it. Then ran a bungee cord to the other side of the truck bed hook to sinch it down. Put a rubber band around the front brake lever and turned the bars sideways. Tested it out on some back roads and no matter how gnarley you get its NOT coming undone. So i'm feeling pretty proud right now.

Every bike I have is too long to keep both wheels mounted and have it sit straight in the bed (too slack of a head angle I guess) so I decided to get a front axle mount from Rocky Mounts. It is lockable so it does give some level of security. I had a local fabricator (the line-x guy actually) make a steel bar that goes from one side of the bed to the other and I bolted it into the existing tie down holes (so completely removable without leaving any trace behind). I then had the tie downs attached to the steel bar so I could still use them when necessary. I attached two Rocky Mount HD mounts to the steel bar (one to each side of my spare tire so I can haul two bikes) and had the whole thing coated with line-x (pretty convenient since he was also the fabricator!). It cost me $100 for the fabrication, $100 for line-x, and $79 per mount. I know its not as cheap as some hitch mount bike racks but it's secure, unobtrusive, and looks pretty clean and custom (in my opinion). I just wanted to show that you have some options and hopefully this will give you some ideas for your dream bike rack. My front tire fits really well in the space between the bar and the front of the bed. My spare tire keeps it from rolling back and forth, but you could easily have a small piece welded on to the steel bar to keep the tire in place.

Make this and sell it! I will buy one for $250, un-coated!

I know this is a bit old but has anything else been released for our 5.5 bed for bikes to be mounted??? I have been looking an this is the best one yet.

thats a lot of work. I forgot the Raptor has a really short bed. I use my SuperDuty to carry bikes, and take the front wheel off (it takes about 15 seconds if your slow, btw, lol).

I mounted my Yakima Locking Bedhead to the back rail and (I have to have a 15mm thru adaptor for one bike) and its locked in and won't come loose, even if I flip the truck (granted my bike wasn't $7k, just $3500) but still, lol.

Yakima has another Bedhead (locking) that clamps (temp) to the side rail if you don't want to bolt it on, runs about $80. I've been looking a long time for truck bed stuff and unless you make your own, there aren't a lot of options, but if you mount the fork on the bed rail, it may give you enough room to get the whole bike in the bed.

that Rocky Mount is pretty sweet, I emailed em a few weeks ago and said they discontinued the old mount and would have a new mount out last week (I think). Its pretty clean if you have a 15mm+ axle, with the Yakima you have to get an adaptor, and even in Houston I couldn't find one....with all the 15mm+ axles being sold in the area, not a single mount available for these types of bikes. lol

I went with a Yakima "Bedhead" which allows me to quickly mount it on any truck bed, since I ride with coworkers and often only take one truck this works great as long as we each have one. I can fit 4 bikes in the bed relatively easily and got it for under $50.
