I am waiting to buy a 2013 raptor. I have been looking around on the internet to find people with personal experiences with off roading this truck. All i find are pictures of modded trucks and people saying what they did or are going to do. What i am interested in, is how well did the truck perform and was managing a big truck easy with those type of conditions. I live about 2 1/2 hours from pismo beach so most of my time will be spent there but also for snow play in the seirras. If you have done any of this please let me know how it went. tell me about the ride comfort, stability, the handling, etc. Also how do the rims hold up to sand and salt? i have a subaru that i drive at pismo and the finish on the rims have worn down in a few spots also doing donuts in the snow when they have already put salt down help to ruin my rims. any feedback would be appreciated because i have to buy a truck soon and the raptor has caught me hook, line, and sinker. as long as the offroad capabilities are what they say they are.
thanks in advance

Just spent a week on the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Took truck on the beach to see how it handled the sand. And it did very well, I was impressed. Ride was smooth, factory suspension performed beautifully

It was very loose, soft sand. Ran in 4X4 high, off-road mode. Truck handled everything that beach could dish out. Rims are fine, no damage from sand.

with my subaru in the sand there was never a chance of rolling over because of the low profile. Did the truck ever feel like it was going to catch a rim in the sand and flip?

Think of the Rap in terms of a giant quad and you'll have it. Its very nimble and stable in the dirt. I have only had it in dirt/sand/mud but from what I have read here its an animal in the snow as well.

Pretty much what he said below

Although it will have a higher chance of rolling than your Suby did. It really is a great truck and the way it handles whoops and the like will amaze you.
