They've been doing this forever and a day. There were similar documents floating around in the Taurus SHO forums, instructing techs to check the torque seal paint to see if guys had swapped out their MAP sensors for ones calibrated for higher boost.

Unfortunately, if you blow up your tuned motor I'm gonna guess they're gonna do everything in their power to prove it.

There's some good information about aftermarket warranty support here for even the "Ford Programs" such as Rousch https://www.fordraptorforum.com/thr...=email&utm_campaign=ed1467&utm_content=iss272

That made me laugh that they even documented badges and tuner mounts. But I understand both sides. I haven't modded yet but figured I would after the warranty is up hard enough to get them to service normally.

None are a for sure. Some claim they leave less of a foot print. If you smile a motor they will look hard at it. Therefore I’d go with a company that has a reliable safe tune. You don’t need one that squeezes every last hp. I’d go... mpt , Cobb or gearhead

Another reason I'm pussing out on a tune....just can't see a expensive eng/trans issue and being told it's on my dime...ouch!

No tune for me, not going to take the chance. Truck is fast enough for me for now. Im going suspension and cooling upgrades thats it
What's interesting about this, is that my Ford dealer ( Ken Grody Ford in Buena Park CA, where I bought the truck and just bought my wife's Edge ST last weekend ) offered to sell / install / warranty the Whipple Stage 1 kit. It is the only CARB legal tuner kit out there.

I have the Rousch open air box / air filter ( CARB EO Number ) on my '17 SCREW and the Ford dealer does not care about it. I asked them specifically.

FYI, Ken Grody here in Carlsbad has some of the lowest ratings of any Ford dealer out there. They refuse to do warranty on regular trucks, and that's not talking about any modifications.
