Mirror light or reflectors?

On my mirrors I have some reflectors or lights on the back side. When looking at the mirror from the drivers seat I see the turn signals blinking. The previous owner tinted the covers on the back of the mirror. They do not light up and the tint is very dark. Are these suppose to be lights or just reflectors? I see on eBay they have light kits. But not sure if what I have. Are there lights on both sides?

Probably lights, hard to tell without a pic and other truck info. There is a button near the lights on a gen2 for the scene lights on the outside front of the mirrors

The side mirrors on the Gen 1 came with amber (orange) reflectors.
