Minor evap system leak

Yo y'all,
I'm looking for some insight on evaP leak issues. I have a check engine light, I forgot the exact code but it was for a"very minor evap system leak" and I assume it's with the capless fuel door again. I check fordtechmakulocos posts often on YouTube and tried his quick fix. It consisted of cleaning the area good, spraying WD40 on the flapper and working it back and forth a few times. Cleared the code and it stayed off for a while. Now it's back! Anyone have to deal with this? Will I need to change the whole capless door out? Any fuel cap filler neck options?

It can be caused by the evap canister going out. Its a cheap part to replace

Can it be isolated & checked with a hand vacuum pump? I hate just changing parts without knowing its bad. Also saw many people here in the past were having to replace the canister purge valve too.

Thanks D R. I did the capless fuel door maintenance, but didnt see the purge valve test. Looks like I know what I have in store for tomorrow.

Assuming this is related to gen 1 only?
