I like reading all the information, but I am in no hurry. Too stressful and too expensive to be in a hurry. Will wait to see in person and make sure most "new" model bugs worked out. Good luck to all those trying to get one like now.

Best plan to have. I will likely wait for a 2018. Waiting a year to get my 2011 was a very wise choice. Gen-2 all new drivetrain, suspension, etc. So many areas for possible issues. I will watch everyone shake them down and go from there.

My only issue is that my '13 is my daily and I have a lot of equity in it but as time goes I will lose it. At Least that's how I think. I would love to wait a little longer but I'm afraid I won't get a good deal on my current truck sometime next year.

Thoughts?

It's a gamble. I am in the same position with my FJ. It's paid for and I can sell it today for about $5k more than I have in it. Drive a vehicle for 4 years and make $5k. Who wouldn't want to sell. My problem is that the Raptor is the only thing that catches my eye right now. But I have made it this far without buying the first year production on any vehicle and don't plan to change. If it were just a body refresh I might jump in. Being all new, I will wait.

I hear what you're saying because I jumped into a 2010 w/5.4 early on and then they changed lots of little things that make a world of difference, not to mention the 6.2.

While I do feel the 2017 is all new again, the concept is not though. The powertrain, yes. The features like suspension, offroad and hill descent modes, luxury items, etc are not all new; they are built upon research from the past 6 years and improved from the previous version(s). So for this model year I would be less hesitant to purchase a 2017.

Either way I still want to wait it out at least a bit more, but mainly because I don't want to be another sheep starting yet another new Gen 2 thread with yet another status update based completely on speculation and/or dealership bullsh!t haha.
